Q. Where is the departure location?
A. Our check-in and departure location is at Qld Scuba Diving Company – Berth 91, Mariners Cove Marina, 60 Seaworld Drive, Main Beach.
Q. What time is check in?
A. Check-in time is 30 minutes prior to departure.
Q. Do I need to pay in advance? Or can I pay on the day?
A. Paying in advance either over the phone or online will secure your seats for the tour. If you prefer not to pay in advance you can come to Qld Scuba Diving and we will book you on the next available tour but be aware that this could be the next day. It is best to call us first (07) 5527 7722.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. We require 48 hours notice to cancel your booking and provide you with a refund. If you contact us inside 48hrs but outside 24 hours of your ride we can reschedule your tour for you for no charge. Within 24 hours, full charges apply and no refunds will be given. There are no refunds if you no-show or are late for your departure so please ensure you check-in with us at least 30minutes prior to your scheduled departure.
Q. I’m sick, can I reschedule?
A. Yes, you can call us 24hrs prior and we will reschedule your tour for you. We hope you feel better soon.
Q. Do the Open Water Course, Advanced Open Water Course or Rescue dive course need to be done in consecutive days?
A. No! We understand most people have to work through the week, so we do our best to work in with your schedule. A lot of people elect to do the courses over the weekends if they’re working or busy through the week.
Q. I want/need to obtain more logged dives, is there any options or deals for certified divers?
Yes! It can become expensive paying for all your logged dives, so we offer an internship.
Once you complete a course with us we welcome you to join the internship where you help out at the shop for free diving, send us an email for more information.
Q. How long is the intro dive?
After completing the briefing and all the in water skills, you get between 30-40mins underwater!
Q. Is there any options for underwater photos or videos?
Yes, once at the shop we have GoPros available for hire. You rent the camera and keep the memory card to take home and make copies!
Q. Do you need to know how to swim for the intro dive?
No, all of our instructors are trained and have experience in helping non swimmers and the dive site we go to is great for beginners.
Q. Does the courses, intro dives and snorkelling include gear?
Yes all the activity’s and courses we provide all include the gear needed for the activity at no extra charge.
Q. Do I need a medical certificate for diving?
There is a medical questionnaire and only if you are a yes to any of the questions then you will be required to get a scuba diving medical before diving.
Q. Do you provide a PADI license?
Yes! We are a PADI 5 dive centre.
Q. I’m a certified diver, and my partner/friend is doing the intro dive, can I join them on the intro dive ?
Yes of course and still at the certified diver price.
Q. How deep is the intro dive?
We start up on the sand at waist depth, and we gradually get deeper around 5m is where we do all the underwater fish feeding but we take you to where ever you feel most comfortable!
Q. What’s the maximum depth of the dive site?
Wavebreaks maximum depth is just a little deeper than 18m.
Q. Do you have multi lingual instructors?
Yes we have many different language speaking staff from Chinese (Cantonese & mandarin), Japanese, Swedish, Spanish and Italian.
Q. What should I bring?
Bring a towel and swimwear. We provide everything else!
Q. Is there any water on the boat?
Yes, we have water, hot chocolate, tea and coffee available on the boat!
Q. Where is the closest and best value car parking?
A. We have FREE parking at Mariners Cove Marina, 60 Seaworld Drive.
Q. How old do you have to be to Scuba Dive?
A. You have to be 10yrs old to Scuba Dive but any age can snorkel.
Q. How long does the tour go for?
A. From pick up to drop off we recommend allowing 4hrs.

Q. Do you have storage for luggage and personal belongings?
A. All luggage and personal belongings can be kept in our Floating Dive Centre which is locked and secure while we are out diving.
Q. Do you offer hotel pick up?

We recommend that customers make their own way to our dive shop at Main Beach so that they will have time to explore the Marina, shops, and local area after their dive or snorkel.
Our Dive shop is a 5 min Uber ride from Surfers Paradise, the local bus stops at the marina and we have a free car park for customers who are driving.
We can provide return transfers from select Surfers Paradise hotels (call 07 5526 7722 to find locations), please be aware that seats are limited.Â
Q. What is the nearest G-Link tram station?
A. The nearest station is Main Beach station, approximately 10mins walk from our office. G-Link Website
Q. Can I take a baby onboard?
A. If you purchase an observer ticket you can bring your baby on board but you will have to stay on the boat and look after your baby for the duration of the tour.
Q. Is it safe? What if I can’t swim?
A. Yes it is very safe and you will be supervised at all times. You do not need to know how to swim.
Q. Do you have foreign translators?
A. Yes we have many different instructors from all over the world, Spain, Japan, China etc.
Q. Does it cost extra for the scuba equipment?
A. If you are doing an introductory dive or PADI course all equipment is included.
Q. What payment types do you accept?
A. We accept Visa, Mastercard, EftPOS and cash.
Q. Do you sell gift vouchers?
A. Yes we sell gift vouchers and they can be purchased HERE.
Q. Is it wheelchair accessible?
A. Yes our floating dive shop is wheelchair accessible. Â
Q. Are service dogs allowed on board?
A. Service dogs are permitted on board.
Q. Can we eat or drink on the boat?
A. Yes you can eat and drink on the boat, just no alchol.
Q. Where are the closet toilets?
A. Public toilets are available in approx 3mins walk away.
Q. Do you have showers?
A. Yes we have fresh water showers for you to wash the salt off but these are not private showers.
Q. Do you have changing rooms?
A. Yes we have private areas were you can change your clothes.
