This dive is purely for pleasure and no experience is necessary. You will be accompanied by a certified PADI instructor throughout the whole dive. Besides seeing beautiful and fascinating aquatic creatures first hand, you’ll experience sensations unique to scuba diving, like the thrill of breathing underwater for the first time, and the feeling of floating weightless like an astronaut in space. You will be swimming amongst the Gold Coasts many species of fish having the opportunity to hand feed them.
We are only too happy to pick you up from your Gold Coast accommodation, dropping you back later. Boarding our boat ‘Discover’ at the lovely Marina Mirage, we travel approx’ 10 minutes north by boat through the Gold Coast waters to the beautiful Wave Break Island. Leaving the boat we head to the island, where we get comfortable wearing & using our SCUBA equipment in the calm shallow waters before heading off on your underwater safari. After you surface we have snorkel gear aboard & you can take off for a relaxing snorkel or simply lounge about on our boat & enjoy light refreshments. A certificate is awarded to every diver and this experience will expand your mind, giving you an insight into the goings on of the Gold Coasts underwater world. For those who wish to stay on top of the water, the Gold Coasts Wave Break Island is a fantastic site for snorkelling. This site is ideal for both the beginner and the advanced as there are over 50 different species of fish with depths ranging from 0 – 15m. Many of the fish school in their hundreds and are very people friendly, this provides excellent opportunities for underwater photography and fish feeding. Due to the location there is minimum swell and you are secluded from other boating activities, as well as a beautiful beach to relax on in between exploring what Wave Break has to offer.
In terms of fish population for an area, Wave Break would have to be one of the most populated in Australia. All snorkellers can be assisted with a guide on the basics of snorkelling and the areas that are best for photography and fish feeding. We also have boogie boards with view holes for those that just wish to float about.
Awesome – you’ve discovered the magic of scuba diving at Wavebreak Island!!!! You’ve already learned many key scuba diving skills. From here it’s so easy to become a qualified PADI SCUBA diver!
